Three years ago I had the great fortune of finally visiting the Grand Canyon. Something I had wanted to do since moving to the United States. The stars finally aligned and off we went. What an adventure! On the way back home we decided to take historic Route 66 for a few hours. We hopped on it in Seligman AZ and drove to Kingman AZ. We saw exactly 2 other cars the whole time. The vastness and emptiness on driving that route simply struck me. It embodies the USA in a way I always imagined as a kid, vastness and endless possibilities. Taking those miles on Route 66 became some of my fondest memories of the whole Grand Canyon trip.
