You glow from rocks and trees so lush and green,
like being illuminated from somewhere deep within.
On nice and sunny days you soak up the light,
on the gray and rainy ones you then shine so bright.
You can take roots wherever you like,
I see your evidence on most every hike.
Where it is bare is where you most thrive,
creeping day after day until you arrive.
Looking up close it’s all tiny trees,
you won’t find any others just like these.
It’s life, it’s love, it’s a miracle no doubt,
it’s moss of course that I’m talking about.
